One of the best places to stay at in Hobart for great views

we again visited the wrest point for the jimmy Barnes hell of a time tour. Big smiles jimmy sounded no different to the pub we used to go to to watch cold chisel. Amazing. We have visited the wrest point on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. Location, food, friendliness of all staff who actually seemed to enjoy working there. Var lett å finne den høyeste bygningen..
Bodde her i 2 netter..God service. Siden vi har leid Bil,og venstre kjøring forførstegang,gjorde jeg det enkelt med hotel..Booket det høyeste hotellet i Hobart,og det var også den høyeste bygningen på Sandy Bay.Og det fant vi med en gang . Amazing renovated hotel and casino.
Couple relaxing holiday. We loved our short stay here. The hotel is stunning since the renovations. We was upgraded from a tower mountain view room to a tower water view room, stunning room. The staff were beautiful. They went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. We had such a wonderful time. Loved the late night bars, Cafe and gaming. Wonderful live music on a Friday and Saturday night. Lovely grounds, great gym, pool, jacuzzi and sauna :) a world top class destination, in the beautiful Hobart city. Weekend at Wrest Point Casino.

Great location and convenient to many locations

Renovation Completed. Great Location and Friendly Staff!
The renovations are completed and the lobby looks fabulous. This was my first ever visit to Hobart and I had been keeping an eye on all the previous reviews on Tripadvisor regarding this property up until my visit here. Many guests complained about the renovation works in the previous reviews, therefore I was a little worried about how it would affect my time here. But all those worries were laid to rest when my taxi dropped me off in front of the revolving doors to the main lobby and I walked into the lobby and was greeted warmly by the staff at the reception counter. I was given a room on level 2 in the tower, my room faced the Derwent River, which was a spectacular view indeed! The rooms on the higher floors would be even better, therefore you should make a request for the rooms from level 4 to 16 when you check in. The highest level in the tower is level 17, but this is where the revolving restaurant is located. This hotel also provides a small indoor lap pool, gym, jacuzzi and sauna for all in-house guests, but I didn't have time to use these facilities. There is a casino at this hotel, it is rather small, nothing like the Crown casino in Melbourne or the Star City casino in Sydney. There is also a convention centre attached to this hotel, therefore this hotel will get really busy whenever there are events happening here. My room was excellent, with a newly refurbished bathroom and the towels were new and fluffy. I had twin beds and both beds were very comfortable and so were the pillows. I bought the buffet breakfast for 2 when I booked the room, and the breakfast in the Boardwalk Bistro was adequate but not spectacular. We also had dinner at the Boardwalk Bistro on 1 of the evenings, dinner was okay. IMPORTANT NOTE: Dinner is served from 5.30pm to 8.30pm in the Boardwalk Bistro. The kitchen closes at 8.30pm SHARP! I feel that this is too early for a restaurant which serves dinner, but this is just my personal opinion. I also tried the Chinese restaurant at this hotel which is located on a mezzanine level outside the casino and the food here was very good. The prawns with special X.O sauce was superb! This hotel is located on the outskirts of Hobart city centre and is within walking distance to several bus stops. I took bus 428 on the main road into Hobart City to explore the city by foot. The bus ride took only 10 minutes to the bus stop near Salamanca Place. The hotel is also located right on the sea front and next to the marina where locals park or berth their sailboats. In the evenings, if the weather is good, you can watch the locals go sailing on the Derwent River from your hotel room, which makes for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. From my room window, I could also see the Tasman Bridge and on the last morning of my stay, I saw a big cruise ship come into the port. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful, they answered all my questions regarding the public transport and also recommended the Bruny Island Day Tour, which I took.
